The talented dancer and choreographer Ma'mura Ergasheva was born in Tashkent in 1951. She graduated from the Tashkent Choreography College and the Tashkent Institute of Foreign Languages in 1977.

Although she began her career as a dancer in the Uzbek State «Bahor» Folk Dance Ensemble, she has been the artistic director and chief choreographer of the ensemble since 1990.

As the best and most loyal student of Mukarrama Turgunbayeva, M. Ergasheva consistently continues her teacher's traditions in the dances she creates and stages.

The dancer performed Uzbek classical, maqom, and contemporary dances with extreme beauty, charm, and skill, including «Munojot», «Tanovar», «Larzon», «Farg'ona Ruboiysi», «Lazgi», «Buxorocha Larzon», «Dunyoni Asrang», «Ko'zlaringni Yashirma», «Shoshdiyu Ketdi», «Rohat», «Holim So'rma», «Jonon Piyola», «Pilla», «Duxtari Lola», «O'n Sakkiz Yoshligim», «Gulsara Raqsi», «Marjonlaring», «Daryo Toshqin», «Jonon», «Zavqim Kelur», «Yovvoyi Tanovar», «Asta Qiyolab O'tdi», «Ona», «Doira Raqsga Chorlaydi», «Saname», «Yalla Aytayin», «Chorgoh», «Xamsa», as well as dance compositions like «Dilxiroj», «Safti Munojot», and «Navro'zi Ajam».

Following in the footsteps of famous choreographers, Ma'mura Ergasheva staged over fifty classical, folk, and international dances with refined taste, including «Bahorim», «Fig'onkim», «Sening Qarashlaring», «Navro'zi Ajam», «Gul va Bulbul», «O'ynasa», «Xayoliy Qiz», «O'zbekiston», «Uch Doira Raqsi», «Bebaholardan», «Yalla Aytayin», «Safti Munojot», «Buncha Go'zal», «Erta Bilan Turaman», «Buxoracha Raqs», «Xorazmcha Raqs», «Bilakuzuk», «Xorazmcha Qoragul» (composition), «Erkalab», «Parvona», «Farg'ona Go'zali», «Xeva Go'zali», «Andijon Polkasi», and Kyrgyz and Kazakh dances.

The dances performed and staged by the dancer are distinguished by their delicate and soft, sometimes cheerful, free, and sharp movements, as well as their great charm and aesthetic impact. This is the result of her constant learning of the complex and subtle secrets of dance art from her masters M. Turgunbayeva, I. Oqilov, G. Izmaylova, S. Musheeva, G. Mavaeva, and the Irismetovas, her consistent self-improvement, tireless work, and, in general, her great love and devotion to her profession.

Ma'mura Ergasheva soon became well-known to the general public, earned respect, and gained fame as a talented dancer, skilled choreographer, and good organizer. She trained and nurtured Honored Artists of Uzbekistan Gulnora Nizomova, Rushana Sultonova, Olima Yoqubova, Roziya Odamboyeva, and dancers Yelena To'xtayeva and Gulshana Qurbonboyeva.

In 1978, Ma'mura Ergasheva became a prize winner at the Youth and Students Festival held in Havana for the dance «Doira Raqsga Chorlaydi» (The Doira Calls to Dance). She has been a member of the Uzbekistan Theater Workers Union since 1979. In 1983, she was awarded the honorary title of «People's Artist of Uzbekistan», and in 1999, she was awarded the «Mehnat Shuhrati» (Labor Glory) Order.
